Case Study WESTPORT CT 06880 Polished Concrete Project

This Polished Concrete project was completed in Westport Connecticut 06880 by Pink’s Concrete Design. The first portion of the project was to bring the existing concrete surface up to standards of preparation. Phase one was to grind the existing concrete floor to get a smooth profile. Some levels of the floor were off by an inch, Pink’s used Rapid Set level 9 underlayment to fix the problem, and save the client on cost of building the floor with the final coating. All divots, and cracks were fixed with epoxy. Next step was to apply a primer. After testing the substrate we found that there was moisture present in the slab which could cause many issues including delimitation. Our experts decided to use a product by Specialty Solutions called Slab Tight, this product is a moisture mitigation system which is water based, and easy to roll on and apply. After 24 hours of drying time, Pink’s was to start the finished application.

Polished Concrete

The techs used Rapid Set TRU. The product is a police-able Self Levelling Overlay we have used many times in the past. It takes stains and dyes well and sets up to high a PSI. TRU was applied at about 3/8th inch thick. After drying saw cuts with a diamond blade walk behind machine gave the floor a tile look, as well as prevents the floor from Concrete Cracking. For floor polishing, we then used HTC newest DURATIQ line of machines. This took the kitchen to a whole new level. We polished the floor with diamonds, than resins. This gave a durable high performance Polished Floor that is turn out an old tile area into a beautiful floor.
